Wellington Restaurants
Wellington is a exciting and cosmopolitan city and the wide variety of Wellington restaurants is a reflection of this. With over 400 restaurants, bars and cafes in the Downtown area alone, you will definitely find something to suit your taste.
Like many NZ cities, Wellington is culturally diverse. Being such an international ‘hotspot’ means that the city plays host to a selection of fantastic ethnic cuisine. Thai, Chinese, Japanese venues rub shoulders with Indian and Italian places. You’ll also find a selection of Halal restaurants. And you can’t go far without passing one of the fabulous vegetarian restaurants in Wellington.
Wellington City has a few areas that are well known as restaurant ‘destinations’. Oriental Bay has a great selection of seafood restaurants situated on the waterfront.
